The unique way St Mirren are trying to sell out their end for Premier Sports Cup final clash against Celtic

In just over a month’s time, Celtic will be going head-to-head with St Mirren for the first major trophy of the season.

The two sides will face off on 14 December at Hampden Park in the Premier Sports Cup final following their respective wins against Rangers and Motherwell.

Celtic will be the favourites for the contest, regardless of whether or not Martin O’Neill is still in charge as the interim manager.

It is likely that the Hoops will also dominate the stands at Mount Florida, but in a bid to try and pack out their own section, St Mirren have come up with their own idea.

St Mirren offering up to 20 tickets per fan for cup final

Ahead of next month’s contest, St Mirren have put on sale their first batch of tickets for the game.

An initial allocation of 9,500 tickets was agreed, but there is scope to give as many as 17,500 if they do gain enough interest.

One way they are trying to do that is by offering season ticket holders the chance to buy up to 20 per person.

To put it into perspective, the Buddies’ home stadium holds an allocation of 7,937, meaning they are hoping to take more than double that in order to sell out but seem to be off to a good start after shifting over 5,000 in the first few hours.

If there are any tickets remaining, non-season ticket holders who have purchased a ticket for a game in any of the past four seasons will then be available from 12pm on Thursday 20 November.
