Cameron Carter-Vickers was putting in the hard graft while his Celtic team-mates were in Japan.
The first-team squad visited Asia for a week-long tour last week. Brendan Rodgers‘ players weren’t exactly relaxing either as they trained multiple times and faced strong J1 League opposition.
Carter-Vickers has been a notable absentee from training so far under the Rodgers regime, but it seems like he’s nearing a return.
As we shared on Sunday morning, CCV has resumed full training at Lennoxtown after undergoing knee surgery in May.
A recent report from the Scottish Sun has shed more light on the situation and revealed what the Celtic star was up to while his team-mates were in Japan.
The report says that Carter-Vickers stayed at Lennoxtown last week. He was put through a solid week of training with the B team and is now expected to join the first-team action.

Carter-Vickers’ Lennoxtown work went completely unseen. He wasn’t shown in the club’s B team training footage from Friday and few knew about his training return until it was reported on Tuesday.
Many may wonder why, if he was returning to fitness, he didn’t join the team in Japan.
Perhaps Celtic felt he would get a better workout at Lennoxtown, especially when Celtic spent much of their time in Japan travelling and playing matches.

Regardless, it is great to hear that Carter-Vickers is nearing a comeback.
He is undoubtedly one of our most important players. Having him back for testing trips to Pittodrie and Ibrox would be an almighty boost.
