The upcoming Scott Brown and Mikael Lustig event at Glasgow’s Hydro has received a little extra Celtic star power today.

On Thursday 18 May, ex-Celts Brown and Lustig will speak to thousands of Hoops supporters in an event being aptly named: ‘A Night with Scott Brown & Mikael Lustig’.

At the time of the launch, it was promised that “a host of special guests” would be joining the pair on stage. (Celtic)

Earlier this month, Gordon Strachan was unveiled as the first guest with Jonny Hayes then also announced yesterday.

Today, current Celtic players Callum McGregor, Greg Taylor and Scott Bain have been included in the line-up. (Celtic website)

There was, curiously, no mention of James Forrest. Perhaps he is just being held back until a later date.

So we’re at five special guests so far. The coming weeks are likely to bring some more.

Many would expect Kieran Tierney to be along for the ride but his commitments with title-chasing Arsenal may scupper those plans.

Brendan Rodgers and Neil Lennon would also be good guests based on their shared experiences with Brown and Lustig, but the reaction from the Celtic faithful may be mixed.

And then there’s a question over whether Ange Postecoglou would be invited along for some added glamour.

Sure, Ange didn’t coach either of Brown or Lustig. But he would be a welcome addition to a growing list of Celtic heroes.

Celtic play two days after the event at home to St. Mirren. Given that Brown’s Fleetwood Town will have finished their season by then, it would be great to see him back at Celtic Park for that one.
