Read MoreThe VAR situation at Celtic Park this weekend as SFA announce Monday "double draw"
Celtic Park will be one of just two venues using VAR this weekend as the Scottish Cup continues.
We’re at the fifth round, or the last 16, stage and Ange Postecoglou‘s Hoops are hosting St. Mirren.
The Saturday 5:30pm kick-off will see VAR in use, with Rangers vs Partick Thistle the only other match using the technology.
As per an SFA release, use of VAR is mandatory only at top-flight grounds and when matches are live on television.
For non-televised top-flight stadium games “the use of the technology is at the discretion of the competing clubs.”
If Celtic do get past the Buddies then attention will turn to the draw for the quarter-finals.
The SFA say that will take place on Monday at 5:30pm, and it will be “a double draw” alongside the Women’s Scottish Cup.
The women are at the same stage as their male counterparts, with Fran Alonso’s Celtic in action against Boroughmuir Thistle at Meadowbank Sports Centre on Sunday.
So let’s hope both sides can safely get through this weekend, and we can have two Celtic’s to look out for on Monday evening.
It promises to be an interesting weekend for all concerned.
