The prospect of Celtic landing Ivan Toney this summer could rest on what happens in a match at Wembley next week.
Neil Lennon is reportedly keen to land Peterborough United forward Toney, who netted 24 league goals last season, as he bids to improve his attacking options at Parkhead.

However, we could face competition from English Championship side Brentford, who may not still be in the same league in a week’s time.
In a recent report, the Daily Mail’s Stephen McGowan described the Bees as the “frontrunners” in the race for the sought after 24-year-old.
Toney is said to be “keen” on a move to Celtic (Daily Record) but it is important to consider how victory for Brentford in Tuesday’s Championship Play-off Final could swing things.

Thomas Frank’s side, who finished 3rd in the regular season, will face either Fulham or Cardiff at Wembley, with it almost certain to be the former.
Celtic or Brentford should still be a no brainer
Promotion would make Brentford a far more attractive proposition for Toney, while their Premier League windfall would also make them difficult to compete with in the transfer market.
However, we’ve got a 60,000 stadium (which will soon be full) and the prospect of European football – something Brentford will likely never have.

We also have a proven track record of improving strikers and moving them on for profit, as seen with Gary Hooper, Moussa Dembele and (soon) Odsonne Edouard.
Celtic vs Brentford really is no contest, and hopefully Toney will see it that way if he does have to make a straight choice.
But just in case, let’s just say a few Celtic fans may be cheering against the Bees at Wembley on Tuesday.
In others news, Celtic’s potential move for Albian Ajeti has stalled in recent days..
