These Celtic fans back a financially lucrative contract offer to Odsonne Edouard
Some Celtic supporters are eager to see the club push the boat out and deliver a new lucrative contract to Odsonne Edouard, after reports that the French forward was in negotiations.
Edouard’s current deal doesn’t expire until 2022 but this summer is seen as a crucial one that will determine his Celtic future, with clubs said to be preparing bids.
The Daily Record has reported this week that with the expectation of offers worth around £30m on the horizon, Celtic have entered talks to help convince Edouard he should give us one more season at least in a Hoops jersey.
Obviously signing a player of Edouard’s quality up to a new deal is not going to come cheap and the paper does state it’s a ‘lucrative’ new contract in the offing.
What that means is uncertain but there’d likely be an expectation he becomes the highest earner at the club considering his form this term.
The Frenchman is closing in on the 30-goal mark in 2019/20, rapidly approaching the 20-assist milestone too.
He’s been an attacking machine and Celtic simply must keep ahold of him if we’re pushing for a tenth title in a row.
Understandably, supporters want to see Edouard in action for as long as possible and have weighed in with their thoughts on a potential contract offer.
Will Celtic deliver of these fans’ wishes and announce the contract we’re all dying to see extended?
45 million release clause! 5 year deal 50,000 a week get it done celts! Sign Forster permanently. Don’t need Elyounoussi send him back get someone else in

It would be best signing we could ever make however , if agreement is to let him go after next season as long as not a clause for him to leave for a cheap figure. We shouldn’t consider anything less than £40m and that’s generous. 💚

If the board agree a new contract for Édouard, surely they can see this as an investment. The money whatever it will be will cover the amount we spent to buy him, also wages when we increase the current deal, and ofcourse the sell on clause will still make us a profit.

£50,000 a week, £35 million buy out clause, win 10 in a row, leave a legend and he’ll only be 23. Win win for everyone

Agree . Give him 50k a week and have a buyout clause for summer of 2021

The higher his wages, the bigger transfer fee when it comes, so it’s also financially sound.

Why just one more year? Still a young lad..not beyond belief he could stay for 4..breaks into France full team and progresses the way he has been.. could be a 60+ million player
