Celtic prospect Jonathan Afolabi hasn’t taken long to score his first goal for Dundee after moving out on loan, volleying in a winner against Greenock Morton in the Scottish Championship today.
The Republic of Ireland youth international is at Dens Park for the season, looking to get his first taste of week-to-week action at senior level.
He impressed off the bench in his debut against Hearts, earning himself a start for today’s home match.
The striker pounced just four minutes into the encounter, volleying home inside the box and leaving the goalkeeper helpless.

He would go on to earn the club’s man of the match award in the 1-0 victory.
The player is also quickly impressing Dees fans, with his potential apparently clear to see.

Afolabi signed for Celtic in 2019, part of a raft of young players to arrive from English football, where he played for Southampton.
He hasn’t managed to make a first-team breakthrough yet but a year in the Championship could be the making of him before he tries to push into Neil Lennon’s plans again.
Still just 20 and with two years left on his contract, he has plenty of time to impress.
Hopefully, he can continue to shine on Tayside.
