Celtic welcome Bayern Munich to Parkhead this week knowing how tough the tie will be.

The Bundesliga giants are in Glasgow ahead of the knockout playoff tie knowing a decent result is needed for the return leg at the Allianz Arena next week.

Brendan Rodgers will have Daizen Maeda available after the club won their appeal against the Japanese star’s ban for the first-leg of the playoff.

Kasper Schmeichel is expected to return from injury while Cameron Carter-Vickers should be back in action but it’s the 12th man that Celts should be able to fully take advantage of.

That is certainly what the opponents are wary of in the build-up.

What Thomas Muller says about Celtic Park

Thomas Muller has urged Bayern’s squad to show up for this one and make sure they are ready for what should be a powderkeg environment surrounded by Hoops fans.

The German international has also called for his squad to avoid complacency in Glasgow as that could be their downfall should they underestimate Rodgers’ players in front of a packed out crowd of their own supporters.

“Anyone who underestimates the Scots has never experienced them at Celtic Park,” Muller explained.

“This atmosphere is amazing; this will be a real highlight.

“And after that, either Leverkusen or Atlético Madrid would be waiting for us.

“So get your beer cold, February is going to be an exciting football month.“

Bayern Munich’s superstars are buzzing about their Celtic clash

Harry Kane and Vincent Kompany both also recently talked about Celtic fan atmosphere inside the stadium while Joshua Kimmich told his teammates to be ready for a cauldron of noise.

Muller had previously had his say on making his first ever appearance at Celtic Park having only enjoyed the fixture from the stands.

The 35-year-old is likely to play this time, though, and recently insisted he and his pals were ready to “rock it” at Parkhead.

But the Hoops know they’re in for a game and have netted 11 goals in their two most recent outings.

That should provide a Champions League lift.
