Three players Neil Lennon could bring back to Celtic

Celtic manager Neil Lennon should consider bringing three former players back to the club.

The Irishman allowed Victor Wanyama, Stephen O’Donnell and Gary Hooper to leave the Hoops.

Now, back under permanent management, Lennon should weigh up the possibility of bringing back the seasoned players.

However, would the fans be happy to see the trio return?

Now, Lennon can really concentrate on building his own team with his own players.

In his first spell, Lennon witnessed the rise of Wanyama and Hooper but let O’Donnell go as a youth.

He bought Mikael Lustig instead who has held his right-back spot ever since.

O’Donnell is becoming one of Scotland’s top full-backs and is being linked with a return to Celtic recently.

Reports say the potential move was Lennon dependant.

A man desperate to return is Lennon’s former top scorer, Hooper, who is without a club.

Constant social media posts wishing for his return have been published by the 31-year-old Englishman.

One man Lennon could try to tempt back is Spurs midfielder and Kenya international, Wanyama.

His injury worries haven’t left him and Wanyama isn’t automatic first-choice with European finalists.

It would be ambitious to bring back the 27-year-old, but Lennon must test the water.

Who is in charge of the transfers?

It’s no secret that Celtic need major backing in the summer, but will the board fully trust Lennon?

In his first spell, Lennon had John Park as chief and helped identify the top stars.

Park is no longer with the club and Celtic have managed to shake off Lee Congerton in previous weeks.

The fans are growing comfortable with a professional set-up behind the scenes and will expect this to continue.

The board and the management may take this team back at least 10 years with their actions so the must be careful.

There are fears that nine-in-a-row is in jeopardy, so the suits must act fast to dispell on any worries.
