Ticket decision will leave Celtic fans with another reason to criticise SFA

It’s no secret that Celtic fans don’t have the greatest relationship with the Scottish FA. And a recent decision the governing body has made is set to annoy the Hoops fans even more.

The SFA has revealed that there won’t be a public sale of tickets for the upcoming youth cup final between Celtic and Rangers on the 25th of April.

Short-sighted decision

That seems like a short-sighted decision by the SFA. It denies fans the opportunity to see some of the best young players in Scotland, such as Karamoko Dembele.

The Scottish Sun has reported that the decision not to put tickets on general sale is due to crowd trouble at the final five years ago.

Unfortunate decision

Football has surely moved on since then. It is unfortunate that the governing body in Scottish football does not seem to agree with this.

If they wanted, the SFA could even have limited the number of tickets on public sale. Perhaps a number like five thousand each would have been applicable.

But the SFA have decided that tickets will just be given to community and academy programmes. Perhaps eventually the SFA will let Celtic and Rangers fans attend the youth cup final. But that does not seem to be the case for the time being.

The decision made by them now however, is wrong.
