Time for Scott Sinclair to shine in Glasgow derby once more

Scott Sinclair has had another good season for Celtic. The winger has chipped in with 17 goals as the Hoops look set to win another title.

One aspect of Sinclair’s play has been slightly disappointing this season though. Unlike in previous seasons, the player has not excelled against Rangers.

He only played one minute of the 1-0 win over the Ibrox side in September, whilst he was very poor in the 1-0 defeat in December.

Not been a factor this season

In previous seasons Sinclair has been a regular difference maker against the Hoops’ biggest rivals. That hasn’t happened thus far this season.

However, Sinclair has the chance to make up for that when the teams meet at Celtic Park next Sunday. The Hoops can all but secure the league title with a win, and it could be Sinclair’s time to shine.

Unplayable on his day

When Sinclair is on his game, he can be unplayable. The hat-trick against Aberdeen earlier this season is a prime example of that. The Dons defence just couldn’t cope with him.

There is a chance this could be Sinclair’s last derby at Celtic Park. His contract runs out at the end of next season, and as yet there has not been any news of a new deal being signed.

The Hoops won’t want to risk losing the player on a free, so he could be sold in the summer. If that is the case, a great display against Rangers would be a perfect goodbye from the player to the fans.
