The praise for Celtic just keeps rolling in as Brendan Rodgers’ unbeaten start to the league continued on Sunday.

Celtic beat Kilmarnock in a game that Hoops boss, Brendan Rodgers described as ‘fighting football’ in a tough 90 minutes at Rugby Park.

Callum McGregor and Nicolas Kuhn got on the scoresheet as Celtic received what was probably their toughest test in the Scottish Premiership this season so far.

Whilst Derek McInnes moaned about the stats of the Celtic loss, Sky Sports pundit, Kris Boyd, admits that despite the hard-fought nature of the win, he still has ‘got to praise Celtic’.

Kilmarnock ‘played better’ against Celtic than Rangers

Boyd was on Sky Sports punditry duty at the weekend and 24 hours after his hissy fit over Celtic hero, Reo Hatate, the former Rangers man was more calm and measured as he explained why he’s praising Celtic after the Rugby Park win.

Boyd told Go Ballistic, “To be honest I thought that Kilmarnock probably played better yesterday than what they did against Rangers a couple of weeks ago but left with absolutely nothing from the Celtic game.

“I mean you’ve got to praise Celtic as well in terms of the way they go about their business.

“I mean they were asked to defend yesterday. It’s the most a Celtic goalkeeper has probably been worked in I don’t know how long.

“A clean sheet and Kilmarnock caused them a lot of problems from using their physicality and asking Celtic to defend.

“They stood up to that and as I said Schmeichel, when he was asked to make a couple of saves, he made them.”

Celtic’s toughest wins of the Scottish Premiership season so far

Traditionally, games against Rangers are the hardest that Celtic normally face in a season. However, that is not to be this year.

Celtic’s 3-0 hammering of Rangers was probably the easiest win outside of the Bhoys’ 6-0 thrashing of St Johnstone for Brendan Rodgers’ team.

So with that in mind, here are the results 67 Hail Hail believes Rodgers’ Celtic have had to work hardest for this season so far, outside of the Kilmarnock result:
