Celtic man Tom Rogic can be frustrating, but he isn’t half talented.

The Wizard of Oz himself, Rogic has 46 caps for Australia and countless incredible Bhoys moments on his CV. Foremost among those is that Scottish Cup Final goal against Aberdeen. After a difficult breakthrough at Celtic, he created memories that will last forever in the minds of supporters everywhere.

The supporters, generally speaking, love him.

With that in mind, Celtic’s social media team played an absolute blinder. People love watching training footage, and this is as good as it gets. The club’s Instagram account, as it often does, put its focus on an individual and this time, it was the Nike Academy graduate.

Here’s a Rogic special, with some outrageous skills on show. Have a click on that, pal.

Could Tom Rogic still play a role at Celtic next season?

The Australian midfield maestro has often cut a frustrated figure in 20-21. Like most everyone, he’s struggled to make his desired impact during an unforgiving season.

We’ve seen occasional moments of magic, though; his goal against St Mirren was top-class [SPFL]. Rogic has also chipped in with assists, including two in one game against Aberdeen [BBC].

He’s only played 90 minutes once this season, however. That only adds to the concern around Rogic; his fitness has never been entirely there.

You can’t argue with the technical skill, though. In that Insta story, by itself, his first-touch and flick for Stephen Welsh are immaculate. His driving run and finish into the bottom corner. If you were putting together a 5-a-side team, you’d surely pick Rogic first.

The Falkirk game showed flashes of his greatness, but it’s consistency that Rogic needs. Ostensibly coming into his prime at 28, he’s clearly got the skill. But whether a new manager will understand the more mercurial qualities of the Australian midfielder is up in the air.

Still – park that for now. Just watch Tom Rogic being exceptional.

Your day will be automatically better for it.
