Tonight’s ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ could be the greatest Celtic Park has ever seen

FK Jablonec may not be the biggest side to have visited Celtic Park on European duty, but their name may soon be alongside some of the continent’s heavyweights as far as Celtic fans are concerned.

After all, tonight is the night that the Celtic faithful pack Paradise again, for the first time in 18 months.

The Czech outfit don’t hold the glamour of Barcelona, Bayern Munich or PSG, but tonight’s atmosphere could well eclipse all that’s gone before.

If you’re anything like me, you’ll have been thinking about this game since about 5pm on Sunday.

The sight of a full Celtic Park, the roar of a Celtic goal, the pre-match atmosphere.

But there is likely to be one part of the evening that stands out above everything else: the latest Celtic rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone.

Sure, our iconic anthem has been sung at Celtic Park in recent weeks. But not like this.

And, judging from some tweets you’re about to see, I’m not the only one utterly obsessed with the notion.

Tonight’s You’ll Never Walk Alone at Celtic Park is going to be emotional

At the best of times, You’ll Never Walk Alone is a pretty moving song.

But after a pandemic that has proved so costly for every Celtic fan, it will have extra significance tonight.

There may hardly be a dry eye in the house, or around the globe.

Enjoy it, wherever you are, and let’s hope the team can rise to the occasion.
