Ah, Tottenham fans; join us Celtic supporters in sheer frustration.

Today, the Spurs faithful marked 50 days without a manager. José Mourinho was sacked by Tottenham Hotspur [BBC] after also being appointed in 2019, albeit far later in the year than Neil Lennon. Lennon, for his part, resigned in February, with the Green Brigade marking 104 days since a permanent manager was in the dugout at Celtic Park.

So, beyond a very intense local rivalry and the white on each team’s kits, the supporters of both Tottenham Hotspur and Celtic are joined by one very key thing: a dithering board.

Daniel Levy, a famously stern operator, is taking his time over his next appointment. Antonio Conte, formerly of Chelsea and Serie A winners Inter Milan, had been heavily linked [Guardian]. Former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly considering a move back to North London [Team Talk].

Funnily enough, José Mourinho was said to be in the frame to replace Neil Lennon [Daily Record]; another bizarre connection (of sorts) between the two clubs.

Either way, you’ve got two very unhappy sets of supporters. And both have key strikers likely to leave the club. For almost every headline about Odsonne Edouard at Celtic, see Harry Kane at Spurs [Sky Sports].

“Rookie numbers”; Celtic fans show… solidarity with Tottenham Hotspur? Of sorts?

Of course, this makes Celtic twice the club Spurs are. In the smallest way possible.

You could argue about who’s the bigger club, if you like. What’s more interesting, though, is reading the interactions between Spurs and Celtic fans on Twitter. Clearly, we’re all sharing the misery.

Firstly, the Tottenham supporters were lamenting their current predicament:

And then came the Celtic supporters:

Ah, what fun.
