The Tottenham Hotspur supporters have been left both incensed and a tough worried at the thought of their player Dilan Markanday joining Celtic.
The Standard reported yesterday that Celtic were in the hunt for the talented winger along with Rangers and a host of English Championship clubs. This comes with the player into the final year of his contract.
It’s reported by the newspaper that Spurs want to tie him down on a long-term contract and send him out on loan. However, Markanday has yet to commit his long-term future to the London club.
The player made his debut for Spurs in the Europa Conference League back in October, and appears to be rated highly. Coming through the youth ranks at Tottenham, the Englishman is a regular at under-23 level.
Spurs would be due a compensation fee for his development should another club swoop in on a pre-contract deal. Markanday can talk to interested parties from the start of 2021.

At 20 years of age, Markanday would have plenty of space to develop. But even his raw attributes are hugely impressive.
He has speed, inventiveness, and vision when on the ball. His close control is quite similar in style to how Patrick Roberts would tackle crowded areas. The way he makes the ball to stick to his feet is particularly noticeable.
Markanday has been involved in 3 further first-team squads this season too as he begins to make his mark in the senior ranks. Granted, he hasn’t yet been called up by Antonio Conte, with all squad inclusions coming under previous boss Nuno Espirito Santo.
But even so, he looks a huge talent, and Celtic fans certainly enjoy a young exciting winger joining their football club. Interest will undoubtedly be high of course, and with Spurs wanting to keep him, the competition will be tough.
