Ukrainian transfer broker Yaroslav Zvarych believes Marian Shved didn’t do enough research before moving to Celtic, the Daily Record reports.
Zvarych helped the Hoops get the deal done for the winger, but it has not been a success so far, as this season he has made a total of three appearances for the Hoops.
Zvarych, an agent and scout, believes that Shved didn’t research the league, and the competition for places in the Celtic squad.
“I’m not the player’s agent, but I recommended to Celtic they sign Marian. Everything they learned about him came from me” he said, as quoted by the Daily Record.
“Don’t think he properly researched”
“I don’t think he properly researched the strength of the league and the competition for places in the squad. And I believe the language difficulties he’s experienced won’t have helped him adapt” he concluded.
Shved’s time at Celtic has to gone as a real disappointment so far. Perhaps the comments from Zvarych go a way towards explaining that.
The language difficulties are perhaps something that should be discussed more. It must be difficult for a player to learn English, and that seems to be the case for Shved.
Language difficulties could be an issue
Naturally that could put him behind other players in the pecking order when it comes to first-team opportunities, but it is a tad unfortunate if his first-team chances have been limited by the language barrier.
It has to be said that it seems unlikely that Shved will feature for Celtic that often for the rest of the season, unless the Hoops have a severe injury crisis.
It would probably be best for the player if he moved on loan during the summer, that could at least give him the chance of regular football.
Does Shved have a chance of making it at Celtic? Would he be better off moving during the summer? Share your thoughts below with a comment in our new discussion forum…
