Uche Ikpeazu may have an awkward initiation at Celtic if a recent report comes to fruition.
West London Sport say that the Hoops and QPR are monitoring the 24-year-old who joined Hearts last summer. While not much else is known about our reported interest, it would be interesting to see what would happen if Ikpeazu did move to Glasgow – for one major reason.
Celtic supporters may remember the Englishman getting entangled in an altercation with Scott Brown at the end of May’s Scottish Cup final. Things were pretty heated between the Hoops captain and Ikpeazu, who had come on as a late sub, and things did boil over beyond the full-time whistle.
Most Celtic fans will hope Ikpeazu deal doesn’t come to fruition
It would be very interesting to see what would happen if Ikpeazu did join Celtic. It’s a well known fact that Brown pretty much runs the dressing room, so he could make things a little awkward for the forward at best.
Of course, Brown and our current manager Neil Lennon had a running battle as opponents in their playing days. They then played with each other shortly afterwards and are now as close as ever before. So all hope wouldn’t be lost for Ikpeazu.
Most Celtic fans will hope that the rumours come to nothing in any case. Most don’t feel that Ikpeazu has what it takes to be a star at the club and it’s hard to disagree given his modest goal stats in Edinburgh.
