MMA and WWE reporter Ariel Helwani has told his 1.1m Twitter followers he is now a Celtic fan “for life” after being gifted this year’s home top.

Helwani is a big deal in MMA, having covered promotions such as UFC and Bellator in an entertaining fashion for a number of years, striking up a rapport with fighters and breaking a number of exclusives.

Over the last year, he’s become involved in the crazy world of WWE too, providing coverage for BT Sport of big events on the professional wrestling scene.

The one time ESPN man has now shared on Twitter: “Thank you to my friend for the lovely Celtic FC jersey! I am now a fan for life. Them’s the rules. ☘️”

I suppose we probably won’t be expecting Helwani in as a season ticket holder any time soon, but he can join the many Celtic supporters in North America when it comes to cheering on the Hoops!

It’s better than being a Rangers supporter anyway, Ariel, that I can guarantee.

Celtic’s presence on the MMA scene has been made apparent before with fighters such as Chris Bungard, Conor McGregor and Molly McCann all on the record with their support.

WWE wrestlers have visited Lennoxtown in the past too.

Rusev and Sheamus rolled up to the Bhoys training centre back in 2016 to get a tour and cause a bit of havoc for the Celtic TV cameras.

In other news, What Ange Postecoglou has seen in Celtic training this week bodes well.
