"Unmitigated disaster"; Lennon, Kennedy, and 13 Celtic players to self-isolate; Hibs game goes ahead

Celtic have been left absolutely decimated ahead of tonight’s clash against Hibernian at Parkhead, with fans fuming over the fact a host of employees must self-isolate.

A grand total of 15 club employees have been informed that they need to self-isolate. This is including Neil Lennon and John Kennedy. Chris Jullien is the player who initially tested positive, the club has confirmed.

Tonight’s clash against Hibernian now looks set to include a shadow squad. It could provide a great opportunity for some of the club’s up-and-coming youngsters to show what they’re all about.

However, the whole saga has left Celtic fans unimpressed. 13 players have been informed they must go into self-isolation, along with the manager and his assistant. Ridiculous stuff.

The club has spent the last week trying to vindicate their trip to Dubai. But it’s now turning into a total disaster given the positive Covid case.

Celtic fans not happy as club management to self-isolate

It’s still unclear as to how many of the 13 players are part of the regular starting XI. But even so, Celtic are going to be massively depleted this evening, and in a must-win game too.

Celtic knew they had to come back from Dubai and win all 19 games. That looks almost impossible now given this latest update. The 15 self-isolating staff members will also miss the upcoming double-header against Livingston, giving they’ve to stay at home for the next 10 days.

This was to be expected, however, after the initial positive case. The SFA published a report back in November that outlined a similar incident with the Scotland under-21s. Close contacts were determined via the arrangements on aircrafts and buses in particular. This is likely why Celtic have had so many players hammered this afternoon.

As always, we hope the player who currently has Covid makes a swift recovery. In addition, we also express our hope that none of the close contacts becomes infected during their isolation period.

However, for now, we wait and see who has picked it up ahead of this evening. However, the support are absolutely furious that the club has put itself in this position:

In other news, this Celtic star has launched a fiery dig at the media and seemed to commit himself to Parkhead for the long-haul.
