Celtic’s Scottish Cup fourth round tie at home to Greenock Morton next month will be shown live on BBC Scotland.
Fixture details for the last 32 of the tournament have been announced today, with Ange Postecoglou’s side set to kick off the cup weekend against the Championship promotion hopefuls.
The game at Celtic Park will take place on Saturday 21 January with a 12:15pm kick-off.
Celtic are, of course, well accustomed to lunchtime Saturday kick-offs. However, a Hoops match being shown solely on terrestrial television is more of a rare event.
Indeed, Morton’s visit will be the first time a domestic Celtic match has been shown only on the BBC since early 2018.
Five years ago, it was Partick Thistle who visited the east end of Glasgow with James Forrest netting a superb hat-trick in a 3-2 win.
Of course, finals have been shown on the BBC since then, but they have been shared with the likes of Sky Sports and Premier Sports.

The reason for Celtic’s return to terrestrial television is pretty simple.
Don’t take this too personally, but our game hasn’t been deemed glamorous enough for the main broadcasters Viaplay Sports (formerly Premier Sports).
Viaplay get to pick their two live games first, with the BBC then choosing their two from what’s left. (Scotsman)
Viaplay have overlooked our game, instead choosing to show St. Johnstone vs Rangers and Hibernian vs Hearts.
Given that both are all-Premiership encounters, with the latter a local derby, we can’t have many complaints.
So it’s the BBC for Celtic next month. Hopefully a straightforward passage into the last 16 of the competition.
In other news, Jim Goodwin has attempted to turn the heat up on Celtic ahead of tomorrow’s game at Pittodrie
