Neil Lennon has added yet more intrigue to Celtic’s hunt for a new permanent manager. The interim manager has revealed that he is set to go on holiday on Monday after the Scottish Cup Final.

Lennon claims that it will no affect in any way Celtic’s hunt for a new boss.

“It will be resolved”

“I’ve said it will be resolved after the cup final and that hasn’t changed” Lennon said about his future, as reported by the Daily Record.

“If there’s communication, we can do it on Sunday, we can do it over the phone. Look, I’m not pre-empting anything, that’s pointless. What I’m telling you is my plan for after the cup final. Go away and see what happens.”

If Lennon was to be unveiled as the new manager you would expect him to be at the club as they announce it.

Trip could have impact on manager selection

Could that mean as he is going on holiday, he will not be appointed as the new manager? Who can say. Of course, the Celtic board could just tell Lennon to delay his trip until after the manager unveiling.

The uncertainty surrounding the new manager isn’t really helping anyone at Celtic. You could even argue that it is overshadowing the Scottish Cup Final.

The sooner it is resolved, the quicker both Celtic and Neil Lennon can move on. Lennon already has his plans for the week ahead, soon Celtic will need to announce their plans.
