Some Celtic fans have been left delighted with the news that Hatem Abd Elhamed has returned to full training at Lennoxtown.
Neil Lennon updated supporters on his situation, along with Nir Bitton, earlier today as per the club’s official Twitter account.
The player himself also took to Instagram to share a training photo from this morning’s session, with Odsonne Edouard and Bitton showing excitement about his return in the comments.
Elhamed hasn’t played for the Hoops in over three months, last featuring in a superb Europa League win away to Lazio.
He’s been a good performer when fit this season and Lennon has trusted him to play in big matches in Europe, appearing to keep him fresh for those group stage matches.
The big aim for the Israeli international will now be keeping himself injury-free.
He’s a versatile performer capable of playing on the right flank or as part of a defensive three, perfectly suiting the current tactics being employed by the manager.
With matches continuing to come thick and fast and a big doubleheader against Copenhagen on the horizon, his return couldn’t be better timed.
Hopefully, he can show enough in training this week to get himself into contention soon.
