Vakoun Issouf Bayo was unveiled to the supporters last night, and today said how moved he was by it.

The Celtic striker has been speaking to Celtic’s official Twitter account today after jetting into the country this week. The club signed him for around a reported £2million, and he’s clearly keen to impress.

And he took in the 4-0 hammering of St Mirren last night at Celtic Park. Brendan Rodgers’ side mauled the Buddies in impressive fashion, but Bayo’s unveiling was just as big a talking point.

The Hoops used their new state-of-the-art Parkhead lights to make a show of Bayo. And the Ivory Coast front-man certainly felt the love during the occasion.

A player clearly ready to impress

Bayo seems hungry to get to know the supporters better and create positive memories for them. Once again, the world renowned Celtic support have helped sway a potentially top young player to come to Glasgow.

Bayo has also admitted that he would love to feature in the Europa League on February 14th against Valencia. But he stopped short of whether he would, acknowledging the fact he hasn’t played in over a month.

As for the unveiling, supporters seemed to generally enjoy the occasion. It was certainly a dramatic affair, with the club seemingly determined to make the most of the new lighting system at Parkhead.

Supporters will now just be hoping the lights go dark again on Saturday and a new right-back is revealed. It’s the only move left that’s stopping this from being a really successful window.

As for Bayo, he seems ready and determined to kick-start his Celtic career. He’s already been working a rigorous looking training regime in a bid to get fit. It surely then won’t be too long before we see what he’s all about.

Until then, however, we’ll just have to keep watching the YouTube clips.
