It turns out that having 700 Celtic supporters at today’s derby against Rangers was good fun after all. It’s certainly a day they’ll remember for the rest of their lives.
Goals from Tom Rogic and Cameron Carter-Vickers ensured Celtic ran out 2-1 winners on the afternoon, sending the club six points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
That started the party in the corner at Ibrox, with the supporters breaking into song after the full-time whistle before being greeted by the squad and staff members. Unfortunately, our heroes had to dodge yet more objects thrown onto the pitch, but they managed to laugh it off and get on with it anyway.
Celtic quickly uploaded brilliant footage of the celebrations to social media after the game which you can view here or embedded below.
This squad and the supporters have had a fantastic bond all season and it’s great to see it continue to grow even though thousands were locked out of Ibrox.
With a home match next week and a mammoth semi-final to come, there will be opportunities for the rest of us to show our appreciation.
The team need to keep working hard to pull off more silverware this season but with a strong advantage at the top of the table and players in imperious form, it’s hard to see anyone stopping us now.
