Former Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer will be happy with a point at home to Liverpool today, starring for Brentford in a 3-3 draw.

One Ajer moment stood out as a highlight of the fixture, despite six goals, when he cleared a certain Mohamed Salah effort off the line.

An incisive Liverpool breakaway produced a sumptuous Jota through pass to Salah, who slipped the ball past the goalkeeper. But Ajer was there showing his trademark commitment to keep the score 0-0 at the time.

Sky Sports posted a clip of the clearance on their social media channels. Different fans from across football are praising the defender for his crucial contribution.

It was a fantastic 90 minutes at the Brentford Community Stadium with the Premier League new boys going toe-to-toe with the former champions.

Brentford faced Arsenal on the opening weekend but this was the first test against the true elite in the division and they came through it without defeat.

Virgil van Dijk also had a couple of highlight moments, notably stopping Ivan Toney march on goal in stoppage time at the end of the game.
