The 2016/17 season was one of unprecedented domestic success for Celtic. At the time it was magical but, in hindsight, the achievement of Brendan Rodgers and his team is even more remarkable.

To go unbeaten in a league season is one thing. To be invincibles as well as treble champions is a whole other level.

That squad were obviously popular with Celtic supporters and none more so than a certain Kolo Toure – who led the dressing room celebrations after a resounding 5-0 victory over Hearts at Tynecastle sealed the Premiership win.

The Sky Sports show posted footage of his famous dance routine on social media this week which you can see embedded above or via this link.

Toure only ever made 11 starts for Celtic, having arrived in Rodgers’ defence as a veteran player transitioning into coaching, but remains a figure of delight for many supporters.

The former Arsenal, Man City and Liverpool star eventually took up a full-time coaching position at Lennoxtown, before moving to Leicester City with Rodgers in 2019.

That’s where he remains, working with the first-team alongside other former Celtic men such as Chris Davies and Glenn Driscoll.

The Celtic group in the video would go on to become double treble winners, treble treble winners, with some of them even becoming quadruple treble winners.

It was the start of something special and potentially something that will never be repeated in Scottish football.

I’m sure Ange Postecoglou and company will be looking to give it a good shot from next season and beyond though!
