You have to love Kyogo Furuhashi. Even in moments of Celtic disappointment, he makes you smile.
The Japanese forward remains out of action with a hamstring injury and, as far as we’re aware, hasn’t even returned to team training yet. However, he’s certainly making his presence known to his teammates on matchday.
Twitter user @julieclarkx posted a fantastic video last night of the striker embracing every single one of the Celtic players going up the tunnel after the pre-match warm-up.
Kyogo has been brilliant since he joined Celtic, not just as a player, but as a character for supporters to get behind.
His love for playing football is infectious and it’s clear he is absolutely bursting to get back onto the pitch.
With 16 goals in 26 matches already this season, getting him back in the team is absolutely crucial to our title bid. He’ll add another layer to this vibrant Celtic attack. He’d have certainly helped last night.
Although Daizen Maeda has quickly picked up the goalscoring bug and Giorgos Giakoumakis has impressed in recent weeks, there’s nobody else quite like Kyogo at the club.
He terrifies defences here. If Ange can call upon him soon then we’ll be hard to cope with in the remaining Scottish Premiership fixtures. Given we are league leaders already, that bodes well!
