Viljami Sinisalo has answered Chris Sutton perfectly after the Celtic hero appeared to challenge the goalkeeper before the Europa League win against Stuttgart.
Martin O’Neill dropped Kasper Schmeichel to the Celtic bench as Sinisalo made his European debut for the Hoops’ win in Stuttgart.
But before the match, Sutton sent Sinisalo a challenge when the teamsheet was announced and the Celtic goalkeeper issued the perfect response.
Sutton posted on X, “The debate around Sinisalo being a young keeper and it being a big game for him…
Has he played his way into the team for Ibrox?
“He’s 24 which isn’t particularly young and playing in goal at Celtic is about temperament as well as ability.
“So it’s a good opportunity for him tonight. Good luck to him. Big chance for him.”

Martin O’Neill’s selection headache ahead of Rangers vs Celtic
Martin O’Neill now has a big selection headache ahead of him for the upcoming Rangers vs Celtic fixture at Ibrox.
Does the Celtic boss stick with the experience of Schmeichel despite the big Dane’s recent poor form?
Or does O’Neill give Sinisalo a deserved reward for his performance against Stuttgart with a Celtic starting spot at Ibrox?
There is no doubt O’Neill has plenty to consider but with just over 36 hours to make a decision, who should the Celtic manager choose?
Why Viljami Sinisalo must start the Rangers vs Celtic fixture
While Sinisalo has no experience playing against Rangers, the Finn’s performance against Stuttgart proves that the Celtic rookie can handle the big-game atmosphere.
Creating European history with a fine Celtic performance, Sinisalo has put his name up there to start against Rangers, and 67 Hail Hail believes he should get the nod.
The young keeper made a number of good diving saves that Schmeichel, quite frankly, would have struggled to make.
And after his full 90 minutes in Germany, Sinisalo’s confidence will be through the roof. Compare and contrast that with Schmeichel’s, there is one clear choice on who should start vs Rangers.
Let’s hope Martin O’Neill makes it.
