Celtic legend Chris Sutton has admitted that he is a big fan of mercurial Hoops midfielder Tom Rogic. But Sutton believes that for the moment Rogic may have to take a back seat in the Hoops team to Ryan Christie.
Sutton believes that Christie has the energy that Lennon wants his ‘number 10’ to have.
“Tom Rogic is someone I rate extremely highly” Sutton said, as reported by the Daily Record.
“However, if the truth is told there are warning signs flashing now for Rogic. And his mantle is in serious danger of being taken by Ryan Christie” Sutton continued.
“Full of energy”

“What Christie lacks in terms of Rogic’s traits he more than makes up for with his speed and his workrate. The 24-year-old is full of invention but, crucially, he’s also full of energy.”
It is hard to disagree with Sutton’s assessment. Christie has started the season in superb form, he has scored three goals for the Hoops already this season.
All the while Christie makes his name in the side, Rogic is recovering from injury. Is there room for both players in the Hoops side? Probably not. They are too similar.
Bound to get back into the team at some point

However, that does not mean that both players don’t have something to offer the Hoops. Celtic play so many games a season that Rogic is bound to get back into the team at some point.
His mercurial genius will no doubt single-handedly win the Hoops some points before the season is over. He has done it in the past, and therefore will probably do it again.
For now, Christie is the man who has earned his spot in the team. If he keeps up his excellent form, he will be a hard man to dislodge.
