Odsonne Edouard’s goals for France under-21s continue to come in spades, and he’s bagged another tonight.

France are currently playing Switzerland in their fourth game in their European qualifying campaign. At the time of writing, Eddy has put them 1-0 ahead with another penalty. The goal has made it 11 goals in six international games for Edouard in the under-21s too.

By the time this piece goes out, he may have very well scored a double or a hat-trick. At the rate he’s going, nothing would surprise you.

But his strike tonight had a little extra class to it. You can watch the video below as French Eddy calmly chipped his France side ahead in a crucial encounter:

Another stunning strike to keep the run going

It’s incredible to think that there hasn’t been a France under-21 game since before his debut that Edouard hasn’t scored in. Switzerland can be added to the likes of Georgia, Slovakia, Azerbaijan, Czech Republic, and Albania (Transfermarkt).

All of the nations above have had their under-21s scored into by Eddy. It’s a list that just keeps growing and growing as he continues to impress.

But this strike against Switzerland perhaps sums up his confidence-levels more than any of his other 10 goals. He’s flying at the moment, and continues to prove that he’s the biggest talent in Scottish football. It’s difficult not to draw comparisons from tonight to the panenka that Moussa Dembele bagged against Rangers. Granted, the scale of the occasion was highly different, but the class is there in both strikes.

Hopefully, by the end of the night, he’s added another goal or two to his record. However, if he gets out of Switzerland with the three points, that’s all that ultimately matters.

His goal-streak just doesn’t look like ending. In their next three fixtures, France under-21s face Liechtenstein, Switzerland, and Georgia respectively.

Would you bet against him scoring in all of those games? At this rate, who knows when his run will stop. Tonight’s strike will only help Eddy’s profile further.
