Celtic find themselves top of the Scottish Premiership table after matchday one owing to a comprehensive 4-0 victory over Kilmarnock.
The Bhoys took the challenge of opening their league account in their stride, with goals from Reo Hatate, Liam Scales, Nicolas Kuhn and Anthony Ralston rounding off a fine afternoon of work for the reigning champions.
Putting on a dominant display, Celtic racked up over 25 shots on goal and held more than 80% possession throughout proceedings, laying down a marker to anyone who has designs on stumping them in their quest for title glory.
At this early stage, the mantra is one game at a time; however, it is refreshing to see Brendan Rodgers delivering on his aim of improving internal squad parts while the wait for further additions ensues.
Either way, Celtic players clearly enjoyed being back in action as a collective yesterday, evidenced by their joyous celebrations at Parkhead.

Rising to head home, the former Shamrock Rovers man was met with a widespread embrace from his colleagues. James Forrest, O’Riley, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Nicolas Kuhn, and Reo Hatate rushed to the scene as he revelled in the delight of claiming his first of the season.
It has to be said, O’Riley looked a little surprised as he ran over, something that probably isn’t too outrageous given Scales has only scored four times for the Bhoys in total!
Before concluding, it would be rude not to mention Furuhashi, O’Riley, and Kuhn’s great dancing celebration after the latter struck to record Celtic’s third of the afternoon.
Choreography was clearly present here as the trio descended towards the Jock Stein stand before carrying out a jig that put a smile on the face of the home crowd.
Celtic are back and the players brought a swagger yesterday worthy of shouting about. Hold onto your hats as another exciting season lies in store with plenty of twists and turns to come.
