Former Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has come under some serious criticism due to Tottenham’s latest results.

As talk of Postecoglou being sacked at Spurs do the rounds, the Australian must be longing for the days his name was sung out from the Celtic Park stands just under two years ago.

Postecoglou was revered by the Hoops support and whilst his name is unlikely to be spoken about like the Celtic legends of the past, the Tottenham boss remains an icon amongst many of the Parkhead support.

As pressure ramps up at Tottenham, Celtic cult hero Ramon Vega took issue with former Spurs player, Jamie O’Hara’s ‘problem’ with the Premier League manager.

Ramon Vega points out Tottenham’s ‘problem’ and it’s not with ex-Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou

Vega told Sky Sports, “I just wanted to see the fundamental side and change at Tottenham, you know. The club has potential, massively.

“They have a nice gun, but they don’t know how to shoot with the gun. That’s the problem, I see with Spurs, you know.

“And I hope for Ange to recover this very quickly and get some potential in the next few weeks, some players to support that.”

O’Hara: “My problem with Ange is his stubbornness. When the tactics and in-game management and trying to get something right.

“It’s just, ‘We’re playing this way. It’s who we are, mate, and this is what we’re doing’, and that can’t continue. You’re 15th in the table, you are getting beat every week.”

Vega: “Everybody’s saying he’s stubborn. Yes, he’s stubborn because he’s trying to create stability within the squad.

“Everybody knows that if somebody’s missing, he can’t replace him and he knows how to play there. And that’s where the problem with Ange is not at the moment.

“He hasn’t got that managed so far. Our hope is he can do that.”

Tottenham’s problems are far bigger than Celtic hero Ange Postecoglou

Postecoglou’s brand of football has been a success at every football team he has managed whether it be at club or international level.

The former Celtic manager has won trophies at every stage of his career and now at Tottenham, silverware is not too far away.

The Carabao Cup is still within Postecoglou’s grasp and by all accounts he could win it but there is a sense of weird entitlement from a fan base that doesn’t have that rite considering the number of managers that have tried and failed to bring success to Spurs.

Jose Mourinho, Mauricio Pochettino, Antonio Conte and Andre Villas-Boas all failed to bring success to the club. If that doesn’t convince people that the problems at that club run deeper than just who the manager is then nothing will.
