It was quite interesting that when Brendan Rodgers chose a loan signing to start in attack against Valencia, he chose Oliver Burke over Timothy Weah.
The move didn’t really work out, as Burke struggled to get in the game and was eventually substituted. Weah didn’t get on the pitch at all, remaining an unused substitute.

An odd decision
That was a bit odd, as Weah would undoubtedly have caused the La Liga side problems with his pace. However, perhaps the Hoops boss thought that with the side down to 10 men and in a rearguard action, the game wouldn’t have suited Weah.

Weah should not be too upset about not playing in the game though. He still has a vital part to play in helping the Hoops clinch the league title.
Upcoming fixture seems made for him

Sunday’s upcoming clash against Motherwell seems made for the player. Brendan Rodgers will probably make a few changes to the side. They must be exhausted after playing with 10 men for almost an hour.
That could well lead to a start for Weah, whose pace would cause the Motherwell defence all kinds of problems. Ironically, the man he could replace in the starting line-up may well be Oliver Burke.
If Weah does not return to Celtic next season, it is a little disappointing that his European adventures fell so flat. But that won’t prevent him from hopefully firing the Hoops to the league title.
