Weekend broadcast bonus for Celtic support

Celtic are providing another pay-per-view stream for tomorrow’s sold-out Scottish Premiership clash against St Johnstone at Celtic Park.

Like most home fixtures this season, there are no more briefs available for the Christmas Eve kick-off, which takes place at 12:30pm.

However, the club announced after the win over Livingston that fans will again get the chance to purchase a stream for £12.99 from the official PPV service website.

The renewed TV rights deal with Sky Sports means that Celtic can choose to do this for five home league matches per season, as long as the match is not also being used by the broadcaster.

Sky are picking up tonight’s Rangers trip to Ross County in this round of matches, leaving the Bhoys free to offer up the game to supporters who can’t make it.

Darren O’Dea and Simon Donnelly will be joining Gerry McCulloch to analyse the game in the studio with Tom Boyd also joining Paul Cuddihiy on commentary.

This is a busy time of year, with lots of travel and family arrangements potentially making it difficult for even season ticket holders to get along to tomorrow’s game.

The option to purchase a stream to watch at home should be welcomed, especially with many fans unable to even purchase match tickets for the test against the Perth side.

Callum Davidson’s side arrive unbeaten in their last six league matches which includes a creditable away win against Hibernian and a home win over Rangers.

Celtic will be red-hot favourites, for good reason, but Ange Postecoglou’s side have more than enough about them to provide all fans, whether in the stadium or at home, with some Christmas cheer.
