Celtic captain Scott Brown has taken to Instagram to share a photo of a reunion with Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney, describing it as a ‘great wee catch up’.
Tierney signed for the Gunners last summer and left with the good wishes of everyone at the club, even if some supporters took the sale badly.
It’s no surprise then to see Broony enjoy meeting up with a player he experienced incredible ‘treble-treble’ success with, as well as the achievement of becoming ‘Invincibles’.
On the social media site, he said: “Great wee catch up with this man. Always a pleasure. What a guy.”
Brown is currently recovering from injury after having to be substituted off against Copenhagen last Thursday night.
Tierney is also sitting out the action at Arsenal right now after suffering a shoulder injury in December.
The former Hoops favourite has struggled to make a consistent impact in the Gunners team this term, making just 11 appearances in all competitions (Transfermarkt).
It’s undoubtedly been a disappointing debut season for the player at the Emirates, who also struggled with fitness and injuries in his final campaign at Celtic Park.
Hopefully, both Brown and Tierney are back on the pitch soon and showing everyone the commitment and tenacity that has defined their careers so far.
Tierney may not have been the lifetime Celtic star we all hoped he’d be, but it’d be smashing to see him make a success of himself in the Premier League.
