Scoring for fun at Celtic. And scoring for fun in the colours of Japan. Some things just don’t change for Kyogo Furuhashi.

The 28-year-old was on target for Japan during their 2-0 friendly win over Tunisia on Tuesday, with his Celtic teammate, Reo Hatate, playing a part in him opening the scoring.

In typical Kyogo Furuhashi fashion, he pounced on a brilliant and sharp through ball from Reo Hatate, before he jumped into life and calmly put the ball into the back of the net.

Hajime Moriyasu’s side scored four against Canda last week and they are showcasing their goalscoring prowess once again.

Following the conclusion of yesterday’s game, Kyogo Furuhashi took to Instagram to react to a positive set of results for his country.

The all-action forward stated that he is making his country ‘proud’ with their recent results and performances.

Back to Celtic business…

It has been a very healthy ten or so days for the Celtic boys, with many firsts from across Europe and the rest of the world.

Liam Scales donned the colours of the Republic of Ireland for the first time, whilst Gustaf Lagerbielke scored his first goal for Sweden.

Despite not earning any minutes for Celtic this season, Mikey Johnston also scored his first goal for the Irish during their Euro 2024 qualifier, as Luis Palma also starred for Honduras.
