The Celtic fans were treated to a feast of football as Brendan Rodgers pulled out another masterclass against Ross County at Parkhead in the Scottish Premiership.

The Celtic boss’ team smashed Don Cowies Ross County in a 45-minute worth of first half of football that left 60,000 Hoops fans breathless inside Parkhead.

Even after naming a much-changed Celtic team to face County, there was not a drop in quality and work ethic at the Bhoys fired in their 40th SPFL goal of the season so fire.

However, during the flurry of goals, here are two things Luke McCowan and Callum McGregor did that might have gone unnoticed during Celtic’s battering of Ross County yesterday afternoon.

Luke McCowan’s cheeky wee touch of class at Celtic’s third goal vs Ross County

Luke McCowan has been an excellent signing for Celtic since making his £1m move from Dundee in the summer.

Having to settle for minutes mainly from the bench, McCowan was the man of the match as he helped Celtic destroy Ross County.

But watch what he does in the build-up to Paulo Bernardo’s goal as the Celtic midfielder grows in confidence each time he pulls on the green and white Hoops.

A cheeky ‘no look’ pass that fooled and unlocked the Ross County defence to slip in Daizen Maeda who then fashioned the opening for Paulo Bernardo’s goal was simply brilliant.

It’s a mark of just how confident McCowan is feeling in a Celtic jersey and proof that he can, and most likely will, become one of Brendan Rodgers’ best signings this season.

Callum McGregor’s unusual SPFL statistic after scoring for Celtic vs Ross County

Callum McGregor is better known for controlling the midfield and unleashing the likes of Kyogo Furuhashi and Adam Idah with his pinpoint passing for Celtic.

However, he’s now added goals to his game this season under Rodgers and after scoring his 6th goal of the season for Celtic yesterday, the Hoops captain has recorded an unusual SPFL stat.

McGregor is now the top scorer in the Scottish Premiership this season as he leads the SPFL scoring charts ahead of Adam Idah (5), Aberdeen’s Habib Gueye (5) and Rangers’ Vaclav Cerny (5).

Nicolas Kuhn, Kyogo Furuhashi and Luke McCowan are also all on five but, remarkably, it’s McGregor who takes the title of Celtic’s best goal threat so far this season.

As previously written on 67 Hail Hail this morning, it’s just another mark of Callum McGregor setting the standards at Celtic and inspiring the team and long may that continue this season.
