‘What Hibs have done’ – Alan Stubbs sends Celtic a Scottish Cup message

Celtic faces Hibs in the Scottish Cup on Sunday.

The quarter-final at Celtic Park has the potential of being a cracker with the Edinburgh club being only the second side this season to beat Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Hibs are on a great run of form, and Celtic have scored ten goals in their last two games, so there is a very good chance that both sets of supporters could witness a Scottish Cup classic.

And that has led former Hibs manager and Celtic defender, Alan Stubbs, to send a little warning to the Parkhead club after they slipped up at Easter Road just over ten days ago.

Alan Stubbs says Hibs have ‘planted a seed of doubt’ in Celtic’s minds

Alan Stubbs was a popular player at Celtic in his relatively short period at the club. Having won the Scottish Cup as the manager of Hibs, the Evertonian is the perfect man to ask about Sunday’s big game.

Stubbs told The Hibs Observer, “This is as tough as it gets for David. You’re going to be playing against a team that has had an unbelievable season.

“But it’s a potential 90 minutes plus extra time – anything can happen.

“What Hibs have done is, they’ve planted a seed of doubt in Celtic’s minds: ‘We can beat you’.

“Dave’s already done it once, but the question is, and this will be a barometer of where Hibs are, can they do it again?

“It’s okay doing it once, and it doesn’t happen all the time, but to do it again will be a huge testament of how far Hibs have come.”
