What Martin O’Neill is doing behind the scenes at Celtic that has made the players feel ‘brilliant’

The impact Martin O’Neill has made at Celtic since his second coming has been nothing but remarkable.

O’Neill answered the Celtic call for the second time this season after a disastrous Wilfried Nancy spell saw the Hoops fall to third place in the league and lost the League Cup final to St Mirren.

In his first game back, Celtic hammered Dundee United as the Bhoys looked invigorated, rejuvenated and a completely different team from what was witnessed under the Frenchman.

So how does O’Neill do it? How did the interim Celtic manager take a team that looked completely devoid of confidence and make them feel like world beaters again?

Kieran Tierney reveals how Martin O’Neill has been ‘amazing’ at Celtic

Tierney has been in the position where he has now experienced two spells under O’Neill and the six weeks of torture under Nancy, so what is the magic ingredient the Northern Irishman has sprinkled over the Celtic team?

Tierney told the Daily Record, “Shaun does a lot of the training and Martin has his input every day, telling you what he thinks.

“He’s got his one liners that make you feel brilliant – the man management side is amazing. His team talks are brilliant.

“It shows you how much he has done in the game, he knows exactly what to say and when to say it. I think the boys can feel how experienced he is.”

Celtic to win the league now Martin O’Neill is back?

Looking at what Tierney has said, who would bet against it? The players certainly seem to have their belief back but it will also depend on what Celtic do in the transfer window.

The Parkhead club are badly in need of a striker, and after what O’Neill revealed about Celtic’s transfer business so far, that striker seems so far away, it’s laughable now.

With the transfer window opened until the 2nd of February, Celtic and O’Neill still have time to add reinforcements, but with two weeks gone and just a defender added, that doesn’t bode well for fans.
