It’s fair to say Sebastian Tounekti has left fans really impressed with what he can do on the park.

The Tunisian international winger was signed by Celtic on transfer deadline day as the club’s 11th addition of the summer transfer window.

Tounekti made his long-awaited Celtic debut against Kilmarnock on Sunday and fans were delighted with what they saw.

However, it’s off the park where the new Celtic winger has impressed as journalist Ryan McDonald shares what Tounekti did that really impressed him at his press conference yesterday.

Sebastian Tounekti’s enthusiasm for Celtic blows journalist away

McDonald was one of the journalists invited along to Tounekti’s Celtic unveiling and what he did before the press conference impressed him.

McDonald told Hotline Live [8m], “Well, first of all, just speaking to him, I think he was just over the moon to be at Celtic and to be in Glasgow.

“He was a really nice guy, introduced himself to all of the written press. And yeah, he just couldn’t really wipe the smile off his face.

“He was absolutely delighted to be here. He made it clear, I think Celtic is now his seventh club of his career. He’s only 23, so he’s made it clear that he wants to kind of settle down in Glasgow and he thinks that he’s finally found a home at Celtic.

“So obviously he was in Sweden with Hammarby for six months just there, so it’s been a kind of whirlwind six, seven months for him.

“But he’s wanting to make a real go of it at Celtic and at least stay here for a couple of years.”

What Sebastian Tounekti said at his Celtic press conference

Tounekti seemed like a rushed signing at the time but the new Celtic winger said he knew of the club’s interest for a while and even watched the Parkhead club’s games prior to his arrival.

Tounekti said, “I heard about the interest through the summer and of course I watched the Champions League games – of course, we all wanted to go through into the Champions League.

“Of course, you wanted the team to play well and to go through, but we all know that in football it’s never easy – especially when you’re in the qualifying play-offs and you’re going to meet good teams.

“The team from Kazakhstan played really well, I think. So of course, you wanted the team to go through, and the reality is that we’re going to play Europa League, and we’re going to do everything we can to have a good campaign there.”
