The return of Jota is one that all Celtic fans have been waiting for patiently.
After returning to the Hoops in January 2025, the winger made an instant impact and helped to retain the Scottish Premiership title.
Unfortunately, the winger picked up a serious injury and has been sidelined since April.
But, with the new year coming, that is a sign that the 28-year-old has almost completed his recovery, and the Celtic fans can expect to see him in the side once again.
How many signings do Celtic need in January?
Jota provides injury update
Jota returned to Glasgow to take part in a meet and greet with several Hoops supporters.
He was joined by Daizen Maeda and during that, was asked about his progress.
While no official date was named, he revealed that recovery is going well and that he should be back out on the pitch sooner rather than later.
He told Celtic TV: “Good and I’m really thrilled to just come back and do my thing again with the help of the lads.
“I think it’s going the right way, but obviously like it’s it’s a big one. So, we just need to be sure about everything and that’s what I want to do.”

Jota on working with Wilfried Nancy
When the winger comes back from injury, he will be working under a new manager in Wilfried Nancy.
The Frenchman will get a glimpse of his winger in training in the early new year.
His winger will be eager to make a point and is looking forward to working under the 48-year-old.
“It’s a new part of the journey,” Jota added.
“I think all of our values and principles will be there, but it’s just a matter of time now to for everyone to adapt and to feel good again and just to go after it.”
