In a recent injury update ahead of Celtic’s game against Rennes, Neil Lennon revealed to Celtic TV as cited by the BBC that Marian Shved would miss the game with an ankle sprain.
That is the latest problem in what has been a very stop-start career with the Hoops. So far, Shved has only made one competitive appearance for the Hoops.
Interestingly enough, he scored in that game for the Hoops, in the 2-0 win over Nomme Kalju. However, he has not made a single appearance for the Hoops since then.
Could thrive in Hoops side

This recent injury will be infuriating for the player. He will be desperate to get his Celtic career going. He is the sort of player that you would think would thrive in Neil Lennon’s current Celtic side as well – a goalscoring attacker.
It should not be forgotten that in his last season with Karpaty Lviv he scored 15 goals. That is an excellent record for a player that is not a striker.
However, it just has not worked out for him so far in his time at Celtic. You would think that he has a good chance of featuring for the Hoops in the current run of fixtures that the team has.
With Celtic facing fixtures in three competitions over the next three months, Shved may well be involved for the Hoops if he can overcome this latest injury.
Ideal fixture for player?

For example, next week’s Betfred Cup tie against Partick Thistle seems like an ideal fixture for the player to make his home debut for the Hoops.
A good performance in that game would really get Shved’s Celtic career up and running. For now though, the player has to concentrate in overcoming an injury.
It has been a slow start to Shved’s Celtic career. However, there is still plenty of time for him to impress at the club.
