Whether he leaves this summer or not, Greg Taylor has been a fantastic servant for Celtic.

Joining from Kilmarnock for £2.2m in 2019, Taylor went on to establish himself as the club’s first choice left-back under Neil Lennon, Ange Postecoglou and now Brendan Rodgers.

Taylor has won 11 major domestic trophies during his time at Parkhead, including five Scottish Premiership titles.

And he could leave with 12 in the bag if Celtic manage to beat Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden Park on May 24.

Taylor potentially faces his last league appearance for the Hoops against St Mirren, and he would be befitting of a fine Celtic Park farewell.

Is Greg Taylor leaving Celtic?

As it stands, Taylor will leave Celtic in June 2025 when his contract expires.

Hoops manager Brendan Rodgers would like Taylor to stay, but the Scotland international’s future remains unclear.

The return of Kieran Tierney in the summer could influence Taylor’s decision.

Who is Taylor’s agent?

Taylor is signed to the Pro Legal Group (PLG) agency and they have represented him since April 2022.

Previously, Jackie McNamara’s Consilium Sports Group represented Taylor.

Is Greg Taylor a Rangers fan?

When playing for Kilmarnock, Taylor admitted in January 2017 that he was a Rangers fan as a kid.

He revealed this in the aftermath of a tackle he made on Rangers midfielder Joey Barton, which Taylor got a red card for.

He said: “I switched my phone off for a few days and let it die down, that was the advice from my agent and people around me.

“As everyone knows, and the gaffer said it as well, it’s not the type of player I am and it’s not the type of boy I am. I was a Rangers fan and I played with them – I wasn’t out to do that. In the heat of the moment, things happen and you learn from it.

“The messages on Twitter were quite sparse and pretty mixed. Some people were saying not to worry about it and the odd few gave me abuse but it wasn’t too bad after that.”

What happened between Taylor and Joey Barton?

On August 26, 2016 during a Scottish Premiership match between Kilmarnock and Rangers at Rugby Park, Taylor received a straight red card for fouling Joey Barton.

Rangers had just equalised to make it 1-1 on the night through James Tavernier, before Taylor made a high tackle on Barton’s leg.

Despite ending the game with 10 men, Kilmarnock managed to earn a point.
