Martin O’Neill was spotted chatting to Doncaster Rovers head of recruitment Lee Glover during a Celtic training session this week.
Glover was pictured at Lennoxtown with the 74-year-old as the Hoops continue to operate without a head of football operations and head of scouting operations since the departures of Paul Tisdale and Jay Lefevre.
That has sparked some debate about the possibility of the former Scotland U21 international joining the team at Celtic Park. But who is Lee Glover and what could he bring to the side.

Agree or disagree?
Who is Lee Glover?
Glover is a former professional footballer who enjoyed spells with Nottingham Forest, Leicester City and Rotherham United. He played under Brian Clough at Forest, but didn’t overlap with O’Neill when he was there as a player.
After hanging up his boots he briefly moved into management, working with Corby Town and Grantham Town, the latter of which is where O’Neill also had a spell in charge of.
He then made the switch to coaching and analysis and has been with Doncaster since 2023, taking on the head of recruitment role in May 2025.
Grant McCann says Lee Glover watches ’20 games a week’
Having someone dedicated to the role will be very important for Celtic and it seems that Glover is a workaholic.
Grant McCann has heaped plenty of praise on his colleague for the work he has done on the training pitch, but also his dedication to finding new players.
Speaking to Doncaster Free Press in 2025, he said: “His main role with us is head of recruitment. He must go and watch about 20 games a week. He’s never in the house, Lee! He probably never gets to see his wife, bless him!
“But he’s loving it and it’s an area Lee wanted to go into and lead that department. He’s got four or five scouts that work for him but we’re a hands-on staff anyway and most Tuesday nights we’re out at games ourselves.”
