Kieran Tierney’s impending return to Celtic from Arsenal has left much of the Parkhead support buzzing.

In his first tenure at Celtic, Tierney made his debut under Ronny Deila, but it was under Brendan Rodgers that he became a phenomenon in the green and white Hoops.

As part of the Celtic Invincibles, Tierney won four league titles, two Scottish Cups and two League Cups before making his £25m move from Celtic to Arsenal.

Now returning to Celtic, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has been using Tierney sparingly this season but his latest cameo against Manchester United will have the Parkhead support buzzing as Arsenal fans continue to rave about the Scotland fullback.

Raheem Sterling left ‘fuming’ with Celtic-bound Kieran Tierney’s Arsenal cameo vs Man United

Tierney was brought on as a 75th-minute substitute as Arsenal chased a winner against Man United at Old Trafford.

With the scores tied at 1-1, and the Gunners’ title hopes evaporating, Arteta decided that Tierney was the man to help unlock the United defence to keep their hopes of keeping up with Liverpool alive.

However, it was a move that left Raheem Sterling raging, as Arsenal TV explains why:

Tierney was played in the more advanced role as Arteta snubbed left-winger Sterling, but it seems that the Celtic-bound defender excelled as the Arsenal fans raved about his performance.

Even though he was on the pitch for just over 15 minutes, Tierney blew the Arsenal fans away as they raved about his short cameo.

One Arsenal fan said, “Kieran Tierney is STILL Arsenal’s best left back.” as another posted, “I wish we didn’t have to move on from Kieran Tierney. Those crosses are insane!!”

One Arsenal fan concurred and praised Tierney’s attacking prowess:

As good as Saka? This Arsenal fan thinks so, “Kieran Tierney is our best creator from the wings other than Saka (when fit), Trossard and Nwaneri.” as another said, “It’s crazy Kieran Tierney gets no game time and still somehow plays the best balls into the box on the team.”

These comments bode well for Daizen Maeda and Adam Idah next season because if Tierney can produce these kinds of performances against Man United, it’s frightening to think what he will do in a Celtic jersey against Scottish opposition.
