Wilfried Nancy has revealed that he has spoken to Martin O’Neill after taking over at Celtic.
Nancy was confirmed as the new Celtic manager on Wednesday but arrived in Glasgow to officially begin work on Thursday.
He takes over from Martin O’Neill after a superb interim spell that saw him win seven of his eight games in charge.
O’Neill has passed the baton onto the Frenchman and in his first sit-down interview with the Hoops’ social media channels, opened up on the conversation he had with the outgoing Northern Irishman.

Wilfried Nancy on the advice he was given by Martin O’Neill
The 48-year-old admitted that he didn’t know O’Neill personally before meeting him, but had a great amount of respect for what he had done with the club.
He told Celtic TV: I just met Martin. I didn’t know him obviously personally, but I knew him as a as a coach and what a guy. Simple as that.
“He is so humble, genuine and also we had a really good discussion. I wanted to ask him for advice regarding certain things and we shared a few things. I’m not surprised because the way he is as a man, you know, as a coach sometimes we don’t have the formula, and this is a mix of everything.
“Martin found a way to do it and the outcome came naturally.”
