If Neil Lennon is looking to get the old guard back together by bringing Garry Parker to the club then another former member of the coaching staff may soon return too.

The Daily Record report than Lennon is keen to have Parker by his side as he enters his new challenge. If the Englishmen rejoins the club then Celtic will be missing just one man from Lennon’s first spell.

Johan Mjallby last worked with the Northern Irishman at Bolton Wanderers. The former defender didn’t follow Lennon and Parker to Hibs, instead choosing to go back to his native Sweden. He has since had spells as a number two at Vasteras, Gefle and Stockholm.

Would Mjallby be interested?

The 48-year-old may be swayed by a return to Glasgow if his recent comments are anything to go by. Speaking to former Hoops midfielder Si Ferry on Open Goal in April he said: “I would definitely not say no to a new adventure abroad.”

Asked about a return to Celtic to work with Lennon, he replied: “Oh most definitely yes.”

It will be interesting to see if Lennon moves for his former teammate over the next couple of weeks, and if so, what happens to the current backroom staff. Both Damien Duff and John Kennedy have been key parts of Celtic since February. Neither are likely to be moved out completely.
