Former England international Trevor Sinclair wishes he’d done more to force a move to Celtic in his career after experiencing his first derby against Rangers a few weeks ago.
Sinclair, who played 12 times for his country and starred for West Ham United, has declared he’d love to play in an Ange Postecoglou team and has a career regret of never pushing for a move to the Bhoys 20 years ago.
The talkSPORT pundit, who shone at the 2002 World Cup, has also heavily praised summer signings Jota and Kyogo Furuhashi.
Sinclair was in attendance to watch the Bhoys thrash Rangers 3-0 at the start of the month and thoroughly enjoyed cheering on Celtic.

Speaking to The Times, he said: “I’d love to be a winger in the modern era. But I’d especially love to play in Ange’s team. Jota is unbelievable, a privilege to watch. I hope for a permanent deal. He quite comfortably has the game for the Premier League, but we don’t want him to go.
“Kyogo is brave, tenacious, can play centre forward or wing, doesn’t mind getting kicked, doesn’t mind failing, doesn’t hide. That’s a player with bottle.
“He’s a finisher and he’s humble. He perfectly fits the club’s philosophy, epitomised by the night he picked up the rubbish at the side of the pitch when he was substituted.
“I’d played at Parkhead in a West Ham friendly but it was next to empty. Against Rangers, it was rocking. Insane. It made me wish I’d done more to force a move to Celtic.”
Sinclair never hides his admiration for Celtic on social media or on the airwaves so it’s not much of a surprise to hear him talk up the Hoops.
He was quite a player in his day and no doubt his exciting attacking wing play would have gone down a treat with Bhoys supporters.
At the very least it sounds like he’ll be returning to Glasgow to take in another big match before long.
In other news, Shaun Maloney is frustrated but his strange criticism of Celtic defender is very unfair.
