67 Hail Hail writers have a mixed view on Celtic’s chances against Feyenoord in the Europa League

Our writers at 67 Hail Hail have predicted how Celtic will fare against Feyenoord.

Around 2,500 Celtic supporters will be in Rotterdam for the Europa League clash on Thursday night.

The two clubs have a strong connection due to their ties to Wim Jansen and Henrik Larsson, among others.

Pierre van Hooijdonk thinks Robin van Persie may be sacked if Celtic win; however, the Bhoys haven’t won in any of their last five games played in the Netherlands.

So, in an attempt to predict the future, 67 Hail Hail have guessed how Celtic will do.

I’d love to say that Celtic are going to turn up and pull a result out of the bag but I can’t help but get nightmares every time I think about the way they folded like a deck of cards against Midtjylland.

Feyenoord may be struggling but their quality is there for everyone to see and they can hurt the back four.

Celtic have conceded at least two goals in 15 of their last 19 Europa League games and they won’t come away with a clean sheet.

For all my concerns, I do think we will come back to Glasgow with a point.

Feyenoord are not in a great place having lost four of their last five fixtures, conceding 11 goals. They will also have a full stand closed for the match after the latest UEFA punishment so Celtic can, hopefully, capitalise on that.

However, Celtic’s struggling win at St Mirren highlighted the lack of creativity in the side and it’s hard to see Martin O’Neill getting out of Rotterdam with a win.

The best we can hope for is a draw, but I fear another away defeat is on the cards.

It is a crucial game for us and it feels like only a win will do.

We have two tough Italian opponents coming up after this and we need a huge improvement from Midtjylland.

I’ll predict Daizen Maeda to step up with a brace and for the Hoops to get the three points.

Feyenoord 1-2 Celtic

Like Martin said, this is a game that Celtic need to win.

De Kuip’s atmosphere is always a force to be reckoned with so seeing one whole stand closed could be a huge difference maker.

Both teams have looked weak in Europe over the past few months and in a game that may lack quality, there won’t be much to separate the sides.
